Hallo! If you’re reading this, it’s probably because you’ve chosen to live in Nightingale. Well done! Nightingale is AMAZING! You’re going to love living here. It may be the smallest hall, but that doesn’t mean we have less fun! You have the benefit of going to breakfast in your pyjamas (if you ever make it!) and there’s a lift for when your feet are feeling tired (or when you’re feeling too lazy to take the stairs!). But maybe you know all that already. What you may not know, and we think this is the best bit of news by far, is there’s a great nine20 group as well! And we’re you’re leaders. Gemma is studying English, and loves reading. She also enjoys singing and thinks cake is the best thing ever invented. Sam is studying Physics with Theoretical Physics but seems to spend most of his time walking round Wollaton Park or playing badminton and squash. So if you fancy a game, just let him know! Gemma, on the other hand, is allergic to exercise...
You’re probably wondering what nine20 is all about. It’s from a cool verse in Luke’s Gospel (ch.9 vs.20 surprisingly enough!) in which Jesus asks ‘Who do you say I am?’. That’s basically it. Together, through sharing in fellowship and studying God’s Word, we want to find out more about who Jesus really is and then share that with our friends. Every Tuesday at 7:30 pm we’ll be meeting together in Room 216 (Sam’s room) to study a passage from the Bible over tea (or squash if you don’t drink tea or coffee!) and plenty cake. We’ll have lots of time to chill together as well! However, we don’t want to keep this great news to ourselves. We want to show our friends more of who Jesus is as well!
As your leaders we’re here to support you. We’ll be around to help you move in, so please don’t hesitate to say hello! You’re welcome to pop round for a cuppa anytime. We’re really looking forward to meeting you in September!
Love,
Gemma and Sam
