Hello everybody! Well I can't believe it but this is the last e-mail of this semester already and it's nearly Christmas time!!!!! How amazing was the carol service! Well done to the choir and the dramatist and of course an extra huge thanks to the awesome Salvation Army band for providing us with the music to so many of our favourite carols so we could belt out the tune! And also well done to all the volunteers who helped set up! The mince pies were yummy! So whatever you guys are doing for Christmas, whether you're staying here, heading back home for Mum's cooking and family time or going away abroad with friends, I wish you all the very very best and I hope you get at least some time away from exam revision to enjoy yourself and spend time with God! See you guys in the New Year!
A very Merry Christmas guys! Jesus is the best!
Love and blessings
Emma

For just one lunchtime a week (or month) unite with other Christians from diverse churches, to focus on God and serve our faculties? What if our university saw Christians overcoming differences, even in important things, because they share the calling to glorify God for who He is, and for sending Jesus to bring those who believe in Him back into a relationship with Him? Sharing the news of Jesus is SO important!
Faculty Groups are a weekly lunchtime group with a vision to reach each corner of our University with the Gospel through unity in it, sharing the calling and promises central to it, and through practical displays of it.
GET INVOLVED! CONTACT YOUR FG LEADER OR GET LINKED WITH YOUR FACULTIES LATEST NEWS AND HAPPENINGS THROUGH OUR FACEBOOK GROUP.
Reading Christian books is a great way to get to know God better and grow in your relationship with Him. The CU has a fantastic, very reasonably priced bookstall and this term we are recommending John Piper's 'God Is The Gospel' which'll cost you a mere £3! If you have any have any books that you'd like to recommend then contact Rachel via the website
Having a One-2-One with an older Christian is a wonderful opportunity to study the Bible and be challenged, encouraged and accountable in our Christian lives. Church is an ideal place to find a One-2-One, and student workers at your church should be able to help with this. Email Rachel via website) if you would like to be put in touch with someone at your church, or if you have not yet settled at one but would like to do a One-2-One with an older Christian.
Just because you live off-campus doesn’t mean you need to miss out on the awesomeness of a Nine20 group. They meet once a week in Lenton and Dunkirk so go to whichever suits you:

Are you lucky enough to have a car at University? If so we need you...Without our lovely car drivers we'd be unable to have any music/sound equipment at CU! Being a driver is a great way to serve, even being on the rota just twice a term would help enormously. If you're interested in helping out contact Fi via website.
First Contact exists to tell students about Jesus Christ! We ask people what they know, and seek to chat with them from there. We meet in the chapel on University Park and Business School South Foyer before heading out. Training will be provided and you can go out in a pair! Speak to Tim Bracken or Simon Lister for more information. |
Nine20 has a small group in every hall of residence and is the best way to get intergrated and really make some awesome friends. Nine20 groups meet every week and give you the chance to meet other Christians in your hall, pray together and study the bible together as well as eating sweets and playing really cool games!
