In the Nottingham Christian Union we believe that the ability to play sport is a wonderful gift from God, and that through it we can spread the good news of the gospel to the campus and beyond.
It’s also a great way to get to know each other and have fun, which is why we as a CU have loads of opportunities for you to get involved with sport – we have sports socials multiple times a term, ranging from volleyball to dodgeball, and we’d love to see you there! Whether you’re a pro or just coming for a laugh, bringing your mates or trying to meet new people, you’re totally welcome!
We also have a CU football team that offers both casual play on Wednesdays and competitive play on Saturdays, and welcomes all ability levels as well. This is currently a men’s team, but we’re looking at putting on some mixed events throughout the year depending on interest, so do get in touch if that sounds like something you’d like to get involved in. CU football is such a great way to make lasting friendships and encourage each other throughout the year, and we’re so excited to get started!
Do you not know that in a race all the runner run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore, I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
